Underwater Photography
I shoot underwater stills as my hobby, but I also have shot commercial stills photography for branding and behind the scenes footage that require high resolution underwater images.
I mainly shoot stills with a Canon R5C 45mp stills camera and native RF lenses but also own and operate a Nikon Z8 42mp camera if this is a preferred camera option. My stills set up can include a 30m fibre cable to surface for tethering and image review, and I also have remote strobes and fixed lights for creative underwater lighting .
Below are some images that I’ve shot with my stills camera systems in Nauticam housings.
Even though moving image is my main focus I’m more than happy to shoot behind the scenes stills alongside another underwater camera operator.

With the launch of the new Mission Impossible film this photo was taken at the start of Dead Reckoning Part 2 / The Final Reckoning back in April 2023!
The continued effort of a hugely talented bunch of people over 2 years resulted in one of the largest and technically challenging sequences ever undertaken, and unlikely to be repeated
My own personal involvement was very small in comparison to everyone else’s, but one I feel privileged to have experienced, and knowing I filmed Tom Cruise underwater even for a nano second of used footage was enough to put a smile on my face
Tom is pictured here with one of my Sony Venice housings that we used to finish the filming on Dead Reckoning part 1 and then for the pick up shots on Part 2
It’s impossible to name check everyone but special shout out to the entire DSUK team ably led by @divingcoordinatordave and @lead_diver_pete , mission accomplished I think!
